Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan organized a delightful performance of Indian classical dance ‘Kathak’ on January 4, 2017. Ms. Antara Datta The Founder and Artistic Director of the Anga Kala Kathak Academy, which has branches in the Pacific Northwest and the Northeast and Central Ohio. She has performed far and wide and relentlessly strives for perfection. She briefed the students on how Kathak took its roots and also elucidated the three styles of Kathak. Ms. Antara Datta performed the Jhaptaal and Thumri dance forms and introduced the audience to the intricacies and majesty of Kathak. The appreciative audience enjoyed the performance and joined in too. She took lessons on syllabic division and rhythmic tapping of feet. Sri Chitturi Vasu Prakash the Director, teachers and students enjoyed the high-spirited interaction.

Saplings was also distributed as a part of Vanamahotsav. Teachers were presented saplings and asked to promote the thought of green city and clean city. Every year as a part of Vanamahotsav we distribute 4000 salpings.

Prakashites had an unique and a creative workshop on ceramic art for 10 Days by a Prominent Ceramist Mr.Vinod Daroz. This workshop offered an exciting chance toexplore the effects of firing and glazing the clay. The students learnt the Raku and Obvara techniques, originated around 12thcentury in Europe, of making ceramic art which resulted with splendid colors.
The exhibition was inaugurated by Prof. Sri. Ravi Shankar Patnaik, Prof Sri V.Ramesh, Dept. of Fine arts A.U. and Sri Chitturi Vasu Prakash, Director, Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan.

Vijnanabharati is a science movement with Swadesi spirit for the development of Swadesi Sciences. As science is a way of thinking Sri Jayanth spoke about ancient India and Indian scientists. He quoted many examples of J.C. Bose’s experiment on wireless transmitters. Sri Jayanth interacted with the students and responded to their queries. Our Honourable Director Sri Chitturi Vasu Prakash also graced the occasion.

Prakashites had a great learning experience along with examination tips by Dr.B.V.Pattabhiram on Time Management,Stress Management,Positive Thinking,Career and Goal Orientation.

Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan organized an impressive and interesting cultural exchange program with the students of Mercersburg Academy, U.S.A. They had not onlyinteracted with Prakashites but also had a session on the art of Quilling . Students taught them how to twirl different paper strips into beautiful shapes like swans, Flowers and Peacocks. It was very interesting to watch the students of Mercersburg Academy learning the art with fun.

Prakashites had an interaction with Miss L.Hari Priya Member of Andhra Pradesh Team in 43rd Senior Nationals & State Carrom Championship, 16th All India South Zone Carrom Championship and the winner of 44th Junior Inter District & State Carrom Championship 2015-2016.

Communication skills are the 21st century skills that every individual looks for be it in India or world over ,keeping pace with changing trends. Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan was graced by Mr. Gordon Michael Sutton from Liverpool, U.K. In his session he highlighted the importance of communication skills, both listening and speaking . How important it is for the students to be able to build up word power naturally and improve skills. In 15 days of his sessions he highlighted on reading skills, questioning skills, comprehension skills based on some very interesting books of the contemporary style. He captured the students’ attention with interesting activities like creative story writing based on childhood remembrances and how it can be done effectively. “The more you read books the better educated you will be.” He said
Interacting with teachers he emphasized on the need for the teachers to be technologically equipped and make their classrooms student centric and interactive. Self exploration should also be highlighted.
Interacting with parents he stressed on need of the day that every parent should stress on life skill based activities and know the role of technology in day to day life as every parent has the role to furnish facilities to their children.
English fortnight is a good beginning to a great venture that is equipping the 21 century citizens. The session was highly appreciated by children, teachers, parents who thanked the director Mr. Chitturi Vasu Prakash for the initiative.

In the august presence of Sri Ashok Ganguly former Chairman CBSE, Sri Satinder Kumar, G.D.Goenka World School, Delhi AND Sri Jogindra Singh Eminent Educationist from Dehradun, Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan’s Interact Club donated artificial limbs to 11 children in association with Gurudeva Charitable Trust.
In their remarks the guests expressed their happiness as the clear sign of happiness could be seen in the children’s eyes.
The urge to help is a wonderful gesture that any human being can seek for and if one begins it at a tender age he or she can surely make a good difference to this world.
The occasion marked the experience of the children who showed the path to others along with the inspiration and great support of the Director Sri Chitturi Vasu Prakash.

We are honoured to be the first in India initiating Science Activity Centre under International Council of Associations for Science Education (ICASE) at our Kappuluppada Campus in Visakhapatnam.

Students of Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan got a new dimension to learning the subject by interacting with noted educationist Sudhakar Agarkar at a seminar on “learning hurdles and remedial measures in science and mathematics” organised here on Saturday.

Dr. Agarkar, who is a working Professor at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education, Tata Institute of Fundamental Research, Mumbai, helped the students in learning about graphs and graphical presentations.

He briefed the students on the study of graph and made them work on graph paper as a part of the workshop.

The participants promptly told him: “Charles Babbage”, when he asked them about the inventor of computer.

“It was Alan Turing, who using a computing device during World War II. Unfortunately, his name cannot be found in the computer books as the computing device was burnt on the orders of Winston Churchill, who didn’t want any remnants of the war,” he said as the students listened in rapt attention.

Dr. Agarkar showed them the life history of Alan Turing through the photographs he had taken during his stay in London. He called upon the students to learn with a lot of interest and asked them to think out of the box and to be a part of the community of young scientists in future. Later, he held an interactive workshop on paradigm shift in science education for teachers.

Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan initiated a tie – up with Zee Learn Gakken Academy, Japan with the intention of improving conceptual understanding and developing scientific temper among the students by providing hands – on experiment tools. In a programme organized at VUDA Children Theatre on 4TH February, Hirofumi Yumoto, the Head of Gakken Science Creation Institute, accompanied by Rajesh Pandya, Vice President (Asia), International Business Development acting as translator, Hiro Funami, General Manager, Overseas Business Division and Girish Nagpal, demonstrated several scientific experiments that could be done easily by hands with the help of the scientific kits supplied by the Japanese Academy. The fascinating experiments had been readily comprehensible to the average student. The Jambo Balloon experiment, proving that the air has weight, the air cannon that provides shape to the air, Gramophone recording, pattern of sounds were some of the experiments that attracted the attention of the audience.

Speaking on the out come of the tie – up. Ch. Vasu Prakash, the Director of the school said that he was confident that the trail blazing experiments would help the students to develop interest on scientific learning by doing with their own hands. He felt happy that his institute became the pioneering knowledge partner of the Academy in the state of Andhra Pradesh by means of which Japanese methods of scientific study at their best would be at the disposal of their students. As every child is unique science learning by experimenting and experiencing will evoke enthusiasm and pave the way to become very much interested in Scientific Research that would lead to winning prizes of World Reputation. At the end of the programme students, teachers and parents who attended were seemed to be moving into the realms of science. The academy head was honoured by presenting with a momento.

Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan had become the first to lap up the idea of Mobile Class in the city to provide education free of cost to the Physically Challenged and under privileged children. Dr. Purandeswari, Honourable Minister of State for HRD (Higher Education), Govt. of India inaugurated the Air conditioned Bus and switched on the LCD T.V. for conducting the class for handicapped students at VUDA Children Theatre on 12th morning. Prior to this there a meeting in the theatre was held in which Sri.E.A.S. Sarma, Ex. Principal Secretary (Energy and Environment) and Convener of the forum for Better Visakha and Prof. Y. Satyanarayana, Vice Chancellor of A.P. Law University were the other guests along with the Chief guest Dr. Purandeswari. Speaking on the occasion the Minister expressed her joy that she was fortunate to have had the opportunity in the morning to start such a virtuous programme because imparting free education would excel all charitable works and never it would fall into deficiency of resources. Referring to a quotation from “Ardha Sastra” written by Koutilya, popularly known as ‘Chanakya’ she stated that highly educated people would be venerable Universally. She stated that it was a cause of anxiety to her that in this competitive era all Institutions aim at achievary academic rather than ethical standards. She appreciated the management for promoting Social service awareness among the students duly mentioning certain social service activities that had been taken up so far by the student clubs and the management which included, helping one of the Kargil war heroes with an amount of ‘2,00,000/-; adopting the Tiger Sirisha in the Zoological Park of the city, donating more than ‘3,00,000 to end Polio programme, distributing seeds and saplings to grow trees that reduce the pollution level; donating more than `50,000/- to A.P. Flud relief fund etc.

The Minister introduced Sri Vidya to the gathering appreciating her outstanding involvement in the social service programs. The Minister also felicitated Sri. Bhujanga Rao forum for better Visakha and honored him with shawl for his involvement and commitment to have the project “School on wheels” became successful. The other guest EAS Sarma hailed the management for lapping up the idea of starting a school on wheels for the benefit of disabled children. Y. Satyanarayana, the Vice Chancellor acclaimed the activities of the Students that reflected their awareness on community service. The Director of the Institution Ch. Vasu Prakash stated that they took up this project in association with SPACE organization. They wanted to provide services to the Physically Challenged Children of Visakha district. Besides serving disabled children in the city, during Holidays and on Sundays the “Vidya Radham” would go to Villages also. 25 students per class would be enrolled and educated using the latest technology with audiovisual aids like LCD T.V. supported by outer speakers in the centralized AC bus that halts at their doorstep. The Director was also planning to start a Mobile computer lab to enable the rural children to have an access to computer education.

The Honorable Minister had also been felicitated by presenting a moments. The other guests also received movements presented by the other distinguished people.

Science and Mathematics are the two driving forces in the development of the nation. These disciplines provide ample opportunities to try out innovative ideas to solve our day to day problems. The year 2011 was celebrated as the International Year of Chemistry. The year 2012 is declared as the National Year of Mathematics on the occasion of 125th birth anniversary of the great Indian Mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. On this occasion Sri PrakashVidyaniketan organized an International Festival for school children in Science and Mathematics for 3days, from 9th to 11th November, 2012.

300 delegates ,15 Speakers from 6 countries (India, Hongkong, Thailand, Dubai, USA and Italy) participated. It is for the first time to organise an nternational Festival on Science & Mathematics for school children in Andhra Pradesh.
Children were able to display their exhibits with explanation and at the same time they got an opportunity to listen to some of the well known speakers in the field of Science and Mathematics. Ample number of “hands on opportunities” were provided to each participant during the festival.

The students of Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan had a very unique and inspiring interaction with Sam Pitroda, an inventor, technocrat and social thinker, that telecom revolution started in India. Sam Pitroda,currently the Chairman and CEO of World –Tel Limited, an International Telecom Union (ITU) initiative, elucidated to the students about his vision to use technology for the benefit and betterment of the society. Along with being a pioneer in telecom, he has made his efforts to provide the basic necessities for the unprivileged. His role models are Gandhi and Einstein – Gandhi as he could rise above self, and Einstein as he imagined things and proved it, he believed in imagination is more powerful than knowledge and imagination can go beyond all knowledge.

Sam Pitroda narrated the students about his work at GTE and formed Wescom Switching,Inc., Chicago and in the year 1984 he returned to India and founded the Center for Development of Telematics and later became advisor to the PM of India on National Technology Missions. He revolutionized the state of telecommunications in India by providing public access to telephones. Answering to the inquisitive queries of the students Sam Pitroda said that his dream was ‘Working on Technology’ and the process of growing up is the day when we fill up what the society needs. He advised students to concentrate on things on which they have their control and that ‘Life is a journey and there is no end point.’ His message was “Work hard, be good, be honest, be sincere and enjoy life.”

The Director Sri Ch Vasu Prakash was also present on this occasion.
