Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan has organized a trip for students to visit the naval war ship. Once we entered the naval area, there were many navy officers. The Eastern Naval Command officers explained the functioning of Naval ships during the tour.I was proud to see the Indian Navy officers for the first time. They were all adorned in white uniforms with a cap and badges on their chests and shoulders. A sudden surge of pride ran through my spine. After we reached the ship, we were given caps to be worn as it was a pretty warm day. I wondered how the officers worked in such conditions. When we started going onto the ship, I could feel the size of the ship. It was not as puny as we generally watch in the pictures, it was a pretty gigantic. I felt I was entering another city. As we soon as we climbed up the deck, there was a navy officer who started explaining to us about one of the parts of the ship, a huge anchor; and the other officer started explaining about many weapons, tools and some devices which were used during the war. We could see various uniforms, diving suits and tools used by them while they were on the ship. They also showed us how they were attacked and how they defend themselves at the time of distress. After reaching the top floor of the ship, I was glad to see the huge Indian flag fluttering.
I thank my school Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, the best school in Vizag for giving me this opportunity. – A . HARI PRIYA, IX A
When I went out for a ship visit, I felt really happy. It was my first time seeing a Navy ship and I felt like I was in the Navy itself. The atmosphere suddenly changed into a patriotic one when I wore the cap that they gave us. First they took us onto the Deck which seemed like a huge stage in the middle of the ocean. The water from the top of the ship looked quite calm and serene. The Deck was clean and neat. The path that we walked looked very narrow at a few places. I imagined how they could survive there if there was not enough space for passage. The anchor that was chained from the bottom of the ship looked much bigger than the ones that we actually watch in pictures and movies. They have also showed us weapons they used when they were attacked by their enemies. One of the officers explained about all of them in detail.I was really proud when I saw the Navy officers in their uniforms. They explained about different parts of the ship and I gained some knowledge about the ship. How they react when their enemies attack them. I felt very happy and proud at the end of the visit. I have shared a lot as soon I have reached home. Now my neighbours and my friends in the other countries also wanted to visit a ship to have the same kind of experience.
I thank our Director Sir, for arranging this visit and my school Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, the best cbse school in Vizag for arranging this educational tour. – G. SHRIJA, IX A
