Dussehra Celebrations 2025–26

Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan, TPT Branch, celebrated Dussehra 2025–26 with great devotion, enthusiasm, and festive spirit. The entire campus radiated joy as students and parents  came together to honour this auspicious festival that marks the triumph of truth over falsehood and good over evil. The event beautifully blended tradition, creativity, and community participation, reflecting the school’s commitment to nurturing cultural values among young learners.

The programme began with a warm welcome that highlighted the deeper significance of Dussehra — a festival that reminds us of the eternal victory of righteousness over wickedness and courage over fear. The day’s proceedings commenced with an enchanting display of Bommala Koluvu, a traditional arrangement of dolls symbolizing devotion, creativity, and storytelling. The dolls were artistically arranged to depict mythological episodes, divine forms, and scenes from everyday village life, serving as a vivid reminder of India’s rich cultural and spiritual heritage. The display also paid tribute to Goddess Shakti, representing feminine power and divinity.

A special picture corner was set up to capture joyful festive moments of children and make them memorable. Students put their heads through a cutout of Rama putting a bow to Ravanasuda. To make the event more interactive, various engaging activities were planned. Parents, along with their children, enthusiastically participated in the fun-filled activity of “Defeating Ravana,” which reflected the spirit of teamwork and the triumph of good values. Winners of the first, second, and third prizes were awarded, making the moment even more memorable.

Adding a creative touch to the celebrations, a craft corner was arranged where parents and their little ones collaboratively made charming paper dolls using coloured paper, ice cream sticks, glue, and decorative kundans. This hands-on activity provided a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to bond while engaging in a joyful, artistic experience.

A major highlight of the celebration was the captivating portrayal of the Navadurga forms by our talented students. The nine forms—Shailaputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri, and Siddhidatri—were brought to life through vibrant costumes, graceful performances, and heartfelt devotion. Each representation symbolized a distinct aspect of divine energy and strength, inspiring everyone present to value courage, purity, and compassion in their lives.

As the day progressed, the rhythmic beats of Dandiya filled the air with joy and excitement. Students, mothers, and teachers joined together in the lively dance, creating a scene of unity, colour, and celebration. The sight of everyone dancing in harmony reflected the spirit of togetherness and cultural pride that Dussehra embodies.

The celebration concluded with words of thanks  for the active participation of parents,  and students. The event truly mirrored the spirit of Dussehra — a celebration of virtue, unity, and faith. It reinforced the timeless message that goodness, truth, and righteousness will always prevail over evil. The day left every participant enriched with festive joy and proud of our cultural traditions.
