Beyond Academics

Yatra

At Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan we believe curriculum comes to life through experiential learning. Prakashites gain new perspectives and build skills for the future through experiential learning. Our ‘Yatra’ taps into student’s strengths and passions to deliver a deeper learning experience before, during and after tour. Their post-tour presentations give them a chance to reflect and share what they’ve learned.

Kids For Peace

Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan has been acknowledged as a ‘Kindness Certified School’ by Kids for Peace (KFP) for making a positive difference in people. KFP is a Global chapter-based nonprofit organization dedicated to creating peace through youth leadership, community service, global friendships and thoughtful act of kindness.
Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan had taken part in the ‘Great Kindness Challenge’ held from January 27 to 31, 2020, to teach the students how to bring joy and happiness in others. In this challenge, students from Grade 1 to 10th are given a checklist of 50 acts of kindness to be completed in one week. Students sincerely carried out the acts, which helped them realize their inner joy in making others happy. This helps to inculcate emphatic values in students and empower them to create a culture of kindness.
Sri Prakash Vidyaniketan became the first Kids for Peace (KFP) Chapter in Visakhapatam, Andhra Pradesh in 2020 and conducts regular peace activities every month. It leads the schools community service initiatives and has been highlighted several times on the social media of Kids for Peace.
The School links up with other Kids for Peace Chapters abroad and join forces in promoting peace on a global scale. The global partner schools are also motivated towards joining its chapter or opening a chapter of their own.

Mun

Model United Nations, also known as Model UN or MUN, is an extracurricular activity in which students typically role play delegates to the United Nations and simulate UN committees. Model UN motivates students to learn about world issues, and helps build confidence, leadership and diplomacy skills.
